Dear Prospective MA Students, When students enroll in the Master of Arts in Psychology at Pace University in the New York City Campus, they join a community of outstanding scholars, dedicated to prepare students for careers in Psychology, as well as in the many fields that are built on the understanding of human behavior. Fostering a sense of community, our inspiring faculty encourages students from a wide range of backgrounds to develop their critical thinking and communication skills, giving them opportunities to turn scientific competencies into real-world impact. is 36-credit program is composed of a set of required courses— constituting a total of 21 credits—and a set of elective courses (for 15 credits), providing students with the opportunity to explore a range of areas in psychology, such as forensic psychology, psychopathology, human learning, personnel psychology, and international psychology, to mention a few. While obtaining their MA, the students have the possibility, if they so desire, to specialize themselves by enrolling in one of three optional research tracks: e Behavioral and Social Sciences Research track, the Global Psychology Research track and the Industrial and Organizational Psychology Research track. While these tracks do not add credit requirements, they orient elective choices to prepare students more specifically for research or work in specific domains. For example, the Behavioral and Social Sciences Research track is designed to develop research skills and, consequently, is particularly appropriate for students who anticipate applying for PhD programs aer their MA and pursuing academic careers. e Global Psychology Research track prepares students for doctoral degrees in the domain, as well as to international/global settings including non-governmental organizations, the United Nations, and other settings that focus on international and cross-cultural research. Finally, the Industrial and Organizational Psychology Research track is adapted for students who want to either pursue a research career in the field, or want to apply their Psychology knowledge and skills to occupational settings and corporate environments. Guler Boyraz, PhD and Nils Myszkowski, PhD Co-directors, MA in Psychology Program Dear Prospective MSEd and PsyD Students, e MSEd in School Psychology is a professional practice training program, preparing graduates to work in educational facilities, such as school districts.
