https://pace.edu/dyson/psychology-nyc Combined Degree Program (BA/MA in Psychology) Program overview e Combined Degree Program (BA/MA in Psychology)* is a 153-credit combined program option that allows Pace University undergraduate students majoring in psychology to obtain an advanced degree with a general, academic foundation in the field of psychology through a wide variety of required and elective courses at the graduate level. ese courses aim to provide students with a variety of skills and resources that are necessary to examine and understand psychological issues. In compliance with the University's academic policies and regulations, students in this program are required to complete the necessary undergraduate core, major, and open elective credits, in addition to the 36 required and elective credits in the master's program. Master's level elective courses will need to be taken in place of many, but not necessary all, of the undergraduate electives. Students may take graduate courses consistent with the necessary prerequisites for these courses. As a result, students may complete the program in five years, thereby possibly saving one year of full-time study. Criteria for admission • Applicants must be undergraduate students majoring in psychology at Pace University currently in their junior year with a minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 at the end of their junior year. • Applicants must have completed–or be on track to complete– at least 65 undergraduate credits, including all required undergraduate psychology major courses, by the end of their junior year. • Transfer students admitted to Pace at the junior level may not be admitted to the program unless they have satisfied all course and admissions requirements above. • Applicants must submit all transcripts from prior academic preparation, two letters of reference, a personal statement, and a completed Pace University application form with the associated fee. A Graduate Record Examination score for the BA/MA program is optional. • Some international applicants will need to submit TOEFL, IELTS or Pearson PTE academic scores in accordance with Pace University admissions policies. Selection for admission is based on a thorough evaluation of all information in an applicant's file. Program curriculum To graduate with the BA/MA, students must complete the following courses: BA—Undergraduate (Total: 117 credits) • University core courses (Must include PSY112)—60 credits • All psychology major required courses—32 credits • Psychology major elective courses—At least 3 credits • Open BA electives (can be Psychology undergraduate electives or not)—22 credits MA—Graduate (Total: 36 credits) • MA in Psychology required courses—21 credits† • MA in Psychology electives—15 credits† e BA/MA in Psychology also offers students the ability to focus their coursework in 1 of 3 optional tracks: • Behavioral and Social Sciences Research • Industrial-Organizational Psychology Research • Global Psychology Research ese tracks do not change the total number of credits required to graduate the BA/MA program; however, they limit the choice of MA electives to specific classes relevant to the track selected.
