5 Master of Arts (MA) in Psychology Program overview e Master of Arts (MA) in Psychology is a 36-credit program is designed to appeal to a diverse range of highly motivated individuals who want to explore the field of psychology further, including those looking to advance their careers by expanding their knowledge about contemporary psychological theories and perspectives, and individuals who may eventually seek to further their study at the doctoral level. Our outstanding faculty aim to encourage professionalism and an appreciation of the discipline. Students may further develop conceptual and analytical skills, acquire further knowledge in a variety of areas in psychology, and develop knowledge of interpersonal dynamics. Criteria for admission • Admission to the MA program is open to qualified holders of a bachelor's degree. • Applicants must submit all transcripts from prior academic preparation, two letters of reference, a personal statement, and a completed Pace University application form with the associated fee. A Graduate Record Examination score for the MA program is optional. • Some international applicants will need to submit TOEFL, IELTS or Pearson PTE academic scores in accordance with Pace University admissions policies. Selection for admission is based on a thorough evaluation of all information in an applicant's file. Program curriculum e program encompasses a wide variety of required courses (21 credits) and elective courses (15 credits) that provide students with the skills and resources needed to examine and understand the broader context of a person's life—family, school, work groups, and other significant systems. Students who want to gain knowledge, skills, and research experience in specific areas of psychology may choose one of three research tracks within the MA program. e research tracks are: • Behavioral and Social Sciences Research: Students develop knowledge, skills, and experience in behavioral and social sciences research. • Global Psychology Research: Students focus on application of research skills to international/global settings including non- governmental organizations, the United Nations, and other settings that focus on international and cross-cultural research. • Industrial and Organizational Psychology Research: Students gain a comprehensive and macroscopic view of industrial and organizational psychology, and acquire knowledge and develop skills associated with the effective management of individuals and groups.
