Pace Students in Service Ci vic E n g a gement Whether it is through service projects, advocacy opportunities, or educational workshops and training, the Center for Community Action and Research (CCAR) provides a pathway for Pace students to explore and address community issues. CCAR: Annual Report 2019–2020 11 In the last year, the Center sponsored 16 community service projects, which included hosting an annual holiday party at Pleasantville Cottage School and supporting New Roots, a community garden that serves a refugee community in the South Bronx. The CCAR was particularly proud to continue its support of the Pace Mobile Food Pantry on the Pleasantville campus, along with the Dean for Students Office and Feeding Westchester. Volunteers supervised by the Center distributed food to over 100 community members during the 2019-2020 academic year. In the fall, Feeding Westchester awarded Pace the Innovative Program Award for establishing its first food pantry located on a college campus. • New Roots • Pleasantville Cottage School • Pace Mobile Food Pantry
