Fall 2018 Marisa assists PSAGV in the collection of over 1,000 signatures on a petition urging NY elected officials to repeal the Dickey Amendment, which effectively prevents the Centers for Disease Control from conducting gun violence research. Fall 2019 Marisa plays a crucial role in PSAGV's 2019 campaign to push the US Senate to hold a vote on a bipartisan background check bill that was passed by the House of Representatives. Spring 2020 Marisa connects her work with CCAR and WLI by facilitating WLI's co- sponsorship of CCAR's Democratic Debate Watch Party. She works with Emma Beach '23, a Vote Everywhere Ambassador and fellow member of WLI, to run a mock election at the event. Spring 2020 Marisa further develops her advocacy skills at the Debating for Democracy: An Activism Training with Beautiful Trouble conference. She participates in discussions and case studies, building skills for leading successful nonviolent grassroots campaigns. www.pace.edu/ccar 10
