Certificate Programs in Publishing Pace also offers four 12-credit professional certificate programs for students seeking to enhance their credentials in Book Publishing, Magazine Publishing, Business Aspects of Publishing, or Digital Publishing. Each certificate can be completed in one year and all credits will count toward the completion of the MS in Publishing Degree. Certificate courses can be completed online and/or in evening classes. Book Publishing (12 Credits) Students must complete four of the following courses: • Book Production and Design • Book Sales and Distribution (or Introduction to Supply Chain Management) • Financial Aspects of Publishing (or Critical Financial Issues in Publishing) • Fundamentals of Trade Book Publishing • Information Systems (or Technology in Publishing) • Marketing Principles and Practices in Publishing (or Children's Book Marketing) • Principles of Publishing: Copyediting and Proofreading • Professional Editing: Rewriting and Line Editing Business Aspects of Publishing (12 Credits) Students must complete four of the following courses: • Book Sales & Distribution • Financial Aspects of Publishing (or Critical Financial Issues in Publishing) • Fundamentals of Trade Book Publishing • Information Systems (or Technology in Publishing) • Introduction to Supply Chain Management • Legal Aspects of Publishing • Marketing Principles and Practices in Publishing (or Children's Book Marketing) • Publishing Business Communication Skills Digital Publishing (12 Credits) Students must complete four of the following courses: • Digital Audience Development for Books & Magazines • Digital Image Creation, Manipulation, and Management • eBooks, Technology, Workflow, and Business Models • Introduction to Publication Design • Information Systems in Publishing (or Digital Issues in Publishing) • Social Media Marketing • Technology in Publishing • Web Development for Publishing Magazine Publishing (12 Credits) Students must complete four of the following courses: • Creating a Magazine Brand (or Specialized Publications) • Digital Audience Development for Books & Magazines • Financial Aspects of Publishing (or Critical Financial Issues in Publishing) • Magazine Advertising Sales: Print and Digital • Magazine Circulation: Print and Digital • Magazine Production and Design • Writing and Editing for Magazines and Digital Publications • Publishing Business Communication Skills
