E D U / D Y S O N 6 Inside Dyson Layne Davis '25 Peace and Justice Studies, Political Science Advocacy and Engagement Intern TAP Network About the internship: The TAP Network is an international coalition of civil society organizations working toward the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal 16 (SDG16) and the broader 2030 Agenda. Davis's experience was enriching due to the small, close-knit team she worked with, making her contributions feel substantive. As the advocacy and engagement intern, her primary responsibility was working on the SDG16 Now campaign, which promotes peaceful, just, and inclusive civil societies. During the United Nations' High-level Political Forum, she created daily newsle ers and designed materials and graphics for stakeholders to use in mobilizing suppo for SDG16. Her work involved extensive research to identify innovative engagement strategies, such as video storytelling and the 16 Days for SDG16 NOW initiative, which featured 16 different forms of advocacy. Her creative input was widely recognized, with many organizations and stakeholders using and reposting the graphics she designed. Doubling the Imp Funded through the Wilson Center, these summer internships assist nonprofits and boost student education with valuable internships that benefit both students and impo ant community work. The Society of Fellows Inducts the R. Emilio Fernández Class Twenty-one students and five faculty members were inducted into the Society of Fellows (SOF) of Dyson College as members of the R. Emilio Fernández Class of Fellows. Each new class is named for a long-standing Fellow who has made a significant contribution to the ideals and activities of the Society. Associate Professor of Mathematics R. Emilio Fernández, PhD, has been a Fellow in the Society since 2019 and joined the SOF faculty board soon a er. During this time, SOF has led and developed several weekend seminars, sponsored six students to become Fellows, and helped increase the visibility of Pleasantville students.
