Developed and Taught by Leaders in the Field Pace University's Forensic Science program draws upon our Chemistry and Biology departments' groundbreaking research and clinical faculty's real-world experience. Program Director Demos Athanasopoulos, PhD, winner of the Kenan Teaching Award, has been published on the development of quantum mechanical methods to study molecular systems in The Journal of Physical Chemistry, Molecular and Biochemical Parasitology, and Surface Science. His research in the use of magnetorheological fluids in impression evidence is sponsored by a National Institute of Justice grant. Professor of Chemistry Zhaohua Dai, PhD, is an expert in chemical detection and the analysis of chemical content and reactions related to real-life issues such as pollution. He has also received external grants to provide insight into high mercury levels found in our environment and co-published numerous papers with his graduate students. " Our students receive the hands-on training that other programs simply do not provide. Many of our faculty members maintain full-time affiliations with major forensic laboratories of local and federal law enforcement agencies, allowing them to bring the latest advances in forensic science into the classroom and to bring students into the field through internships." —Demos Athanasopoulos, PhD Director of the Forensic Science master's program Critical Connections, Exceptional Opportunities Pace has established relationships with major regional and national forensic labs including the largest DNA lab in the country. These labs offer internship-toemployment opportunities for graduate students. In addition, our state-of-the-art equipment and cutting-edge coursework give students the core skills they need to succeed in any lab environment from day one. Plus Pace's small class sizes (fewer than 15 students per course) ensure students have both close personal mentoring and hands-on experience.
