Effects of Conflict on
Global Health Conference
Dyson co-sponsored the Effects of Conflict on Global Health Conference along
with the Lienhard School of Nursing in the College of Health Professions and
the United Nations Association. Conflict affects both the mental and physical
health of the population as well as the state of the environment. The conference
examined strategies that can be used to lessen the effects of conflict on the
human condition, our environment, and our planet. Judy Cheng-Hopkins,
assistant secretary general of the United Nations for Peacebuilding Support,
was the keynote speaker. The conference was held on October 23, 2013, on the
Westchester Campus.
