Dyson Presence at Pace
Undergraduate Research
Showcase Continues
In its third year, the Undergraduate Student-Faculty Research Program
pairs undergraduate students of any major with a faculty mentor in
their chosen discipline to carry out a research project. A small stipend
is granted to each pair.
Laura Sorrentino '14, environmental studies
major, and Angelo Spillo, adjunct lecturer and director of the
Environmental Center, from the Westchester Campus won
for their research on the preparedness of local municipalities
towards rising water levels due to climate change.
In New York City, Assistant Professor of Economics Anna Shostya
and
Robert McLoughlin '14, a triple major
in business economics at Dyson and a Lubin major in finance
and human resources management, won for their work on the
effect of the usage of video games and other media on student
academic performance.
This program, fully-funded and supported by Pace's President
and Provost, was designed to enrich students' academic
experiences and strengthen their critical, analytic, research, and
writing skills.
