The BACHELOR OF FINE ARTS (BFA) IN COMMERCIAL
DANCE, the first of its kind in New York City, prepares students for a career in the
entertainment industry—Broadway, television, and film. This major offers comprehensive
dance training that bridges the gap between classical technique and the world of
commercial dance. Setting itself apart from the concert dance training common to most
university programs, Pace's Commercial Dance program focuses on dance styles and
techniques relevant to the individual performer. In their junior year, students choose from
one of three concentrations: performance, choreography, or pedagogy.
"
My time at Pace University did an incredible job of
preparing me for a professional performance career.
Our teachers created realistic classroom, rehearsal,
and performance environments, so that nothing
would catch us by surprise as we entered the work
force. Pace was an integral stepping stone for me
on the way to this 'dream come true' job!"
