Our graduate program provides a foundation
in environmental science, while it also
exposes students to non-science courses,
such as environmental policy, law, or
communication. These diverse disciplines
enable our students to solve problems in a
creative, effective way; seeing the world with
a unique perspective."

Professor Melissa Grigione, PhD, specializes in mammalian
spatial ecology–studying species whose populations have been
seriously altered as a consequence of habitat degradation and
fragmentation. She has travelled all over the world in her research,
including tracking wild pumas in Chile, studying wild camels in
Bolivia, and conserving Neotropical cats along the United States-
Mexico border.
