A Digital Trip through
the Whitney Museum
Professor of Art Will Pappenheimer was commissioned by
the renowned Whitney Museum of American Art to create
Proxy, 5-WM2A, a super high-concept augmented reality
piece. Guests used their mobile devices to view hallucinatory
virtual elements overlaid on their surroundings.
Proxy, 5-WM2A debuted at the museum's final gala at its
iconic Upper East Side home, before moving to its new home
in New York City's Meatpacking District. The experience
was meant to help the partygoers leave behind the old and
transition to the new.
