Society of Fellows
Honors the Class
of 2015
The Dyson College Society of Fellows Mark Weinstock Class of
2015, named for the Dyson professor of economics, was initiated
on April 22 at a ceremony on the New York City Campus.
The Mark Weinstock Class consists of 19 new fellows—four faculty
and 15 students.
The Society of Fellows of Dyson College was formally established
on December 5, 1981. The first class consisted of 16 fellows
and was named the William Barrett Class. Barrett was a professor
of philosophy. Today, there are a total of 661 fellows.
Dyson College's
40th Anniversary
In 1974, Pace University's School of Arts and Sciences was renamed
the Charles H. Dyson College of Arts and Sciences in recognition
of alumnus and trustee Charles H. Dyson '30.
Back then, Pace University was primarily
recognized as a leading business school
and Dyson College's chief mission was
to prepare Pace students to be well-rounded,
cultured business men and women. Through
the decades Dyson has grown steadily and
surely. Today it is the University's largest college, and it offers students
54 majors, the most majors offered by any school or college at Pace
University. Dyson alumni have graduated with degrees as varied and
interesting as art history, or biology, or mental health counseling.
Charles Dyson would be bursting with pride to see how much Dyson
College has flourished and come into its own.
