Conclusion
Both Summits have had an impact on how Pace University understands the
significance of resilience. We recognize that many of us at Pace are now in the
forefront as thought leaders for each of the segments highlighted in the framework.
Included in this second document are viewpoints from five of the University's six
schools that were highlighted during the Second Summit. Not only do we see
the continuing challenges of developing public and private partnerships, we also
recognize the need for continued vigilance in facing the unanticipated challenges that
nature has in store for the global community.
These two Summit inquiries have made it clear that we as a society, not only
Pace University, need to view resilience from a multi-disciplinary academic
perspective, but we also need insight from multiple disciplines such as urban
planning, environmental science, critical infrastructure, law, health, business,
government, and others who wish to join this venture. It is Pace's goal to
continue these discussions.
