At Pace, you can follow your passion toward a rewarding career. Whether you want to break into the news industry, create compelling social media content, make documentary films, or run your own public relations firm, Pace University's MA in Media and Communication Arts will help you further your career in communications. Our program offers advanced professional training in media writing, public relations, videography, editing, production, and advertising; teaches students how to apply new technology in the workplace; and provides the practical work experience you need to succeed from day one. ■ ■ Hands-on learning in fully outfitted facilities—Our Media and Communications Center provides the perfect venue to learn hands-on production including videography, editing, audio production, blogging, and podcasting using contemporary HD equipment and technology. The center is equipped with a full range of field gear such as DSLR cameras and digital audio recorders, two full lighting kits, two sound stages with green screens, a teleprompter and control room, and the most current and marketable software like AVID Media Composer and the Adobe Creative Suite. ■ ■ Work on location with leaders in the field—Working with professors and other media professionals, students have the opportunity to produce a short documentary on location, internationally. Past projects include award-winning documentaries on sustainability filmed in Mexico, Portugal, Belize, Brazil, Curaçao, and Cuba. Students have also worked in a public relations capacity creating campaigns and media plans for non-profit organizations, social media video hubs, and start-up ventures. ■ ■ Courses that adapt and evolve as quickly as the profession— Unique curricula address hot topics such as communicating in cross-cultural business contexts, viral messaging, corporate reputation, and environmental blogging. ■ ■ Fast and flexible—The 36-credit degree may be completed either on a full- or part-time basis. Classes are held either in the late afternoon and evening or online to accommodate working professionals.
