Developed and Taught by Leaders in the Field
Pace University's Forensic Science program draws upon our Chemistry
and Biology departments' groundbreaking research and clinical
faculty's real-world experience.
Chemistry Department Chair and Kenan Teaching Award winner
Demos Athanasopoulos, PhD, has been published on the
development of quantum mechanical methods to study molecular
systems in The Journal of Physical Chemistry, Molecular and
Biochemical Parasitology, and Surface Science. His research on
the use of magneto-rheological fluids in impression evidence is
sponsored by a National Institute of Justice grant.
Program Director and Professor of Chemistry Zhaohua Dai, PhD, is an
expert in chemical detection and the analysis of chemical content and
reactions related to real-life issues such as pollution. He has received
external grants supporting research into high mercury levels found
in our environment and has co-published numerous papers with his
graduate students.
Critical Connections, Exceptional Opportunities
Pace has established relationships with major regional and national
forensic labs including the largest DNA lab in the country. These labs
offer internship-to-employment opportunities for graduate students.
In addition, our state-of-the-art equipment and cutting-edge
coursework give students the core skills they need to succeed in
any lab environment from day one. Plus Pace's small class sizes
(fewer than 15 students per course) ensure students have both
close personal mentoring and hands-on experience.
