WEBSITE, SOCIAL MEDIA AND DIGITAL INITIATIVES
Significant efforts were taken toward creating and improving the online presence of DCISE's environmental
programs and instituting regular digital communications that will generate brand awareness and identity,
and build a community of followers, including:
A major overhaul of the DCISE website, including its various units' micro-websites, to incorporate new
content, improve usability, focus on the most relevant information, and promote events.

Built the website, highlighting all departments within the Institute and calling attention to
environmental events

Reorganized site to make information more accessible to students and the general public
ESS: http://www.pace.edu/dyson/envstudies-science
Added pages to highlight faculty bios and all ESS news and events
DCISE launched several social media channels. They include:
Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/dysonenv
Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/dysonenv
Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/dysonenv
ESS LinkedIn Group: bit.ly/ESSLinkedIn
This group for faculty, students and alumni of the ESS department was launched so as to be able to
continually share relevant job opportunities, internships, grants, etc. to this page. This will also serve
as a community discussion board for ESS.
The EarthDesk Blog: http://earthdesk.blogs.pace.edu
Edited by John Cronin, the blog continued to publish during the 2015 - 2016 academic year, but
was on hiatus from January until April 2016 due to a redesign and restructuring necessitated
by a change in Wordpress platforms instituted by the University. It returned as the online journal of
the Dyson College Institute for Sustainability and the Environment. To date, EarthDesk has published
more than 330 articles by Pace and external contributors.
A monthly newsletter highlighting DCISE's news, events and accomplishments was launched. During
each semester, it is distributed once a month to all Dyson students, staff and faculty.
