his past year, Dyson College has continued to make strides that have proven the value of our unique formula of combining a traditional liberal arts education with practical, professional training. This "Dyson Advantage," as we call our Pace Path initiative, is manifested in the remarkable accomplishments of our students, faculty, and alumnae/i, who work to meet the challenges of society's needs. This Dyson Year in Review issue provides many examples of purposeful learning and scholarship that we can be proud of. When Cuba welcomed President Obama last spring, Dyson students were there, creating a documentary film, Cuba's Crossroads, which provides an intimate portrait of the country at this historic moment. The next time you visit the circus and notice there are no elephants, it is because our Environmental Policy Clinic students authored a bill that passed in the New York State legislature, banning the use of their performance for humane reasons. Dyson economics students and their faculty advisors on the Pace Federal Reserve Challenge team have done it again – winning the National College Fed Challenge for a second consecutive year. And further, our students are representing Pace globally as Fulbright scholars – three, to be exact - in South Korea, Senegal, and Jordan; nationally and internationally via Model United Nations conferences; and in our local communities through the Center for Community Action and Research. As you will read, Dyson faculty continue to perform cutting- edge research, whether it's studying the benefits of acute stress, finding ways to protect and preserve the environment, or seeking treatments for diseases such as cryptosporidiosis. And their scholarly publications are filling up the literal and digital book shelves with must-reads for all. We also continue to see achievements from our alumnae/i who are making their marks in the White House or closer to home in Albany, New York. This year, we celebrated the 30 th anniversary of the Publishing Program, which continues to successfully ride the waves of digitalization in the industry. And we have completed new building construction on the Pleasantville campus, including Dyson's Environmental Center Complex, setting a firm foundation for future growth of the College. As we look ahead, and with your support, we will continue to strengthen the Dyson Advantage and provide our students with a liberal arts education that sets them up for success and a fulfilling life.
