Ranking of Accounting Doctoral Programs Based on Student Ratings Prof. Kam Chan Prof. Barbara Farrell Prof. Patricia Healy with Prof. Annie Wong (Western CT State U) The objectives of this study are to rank the US accounting doctoral programs in terms of their graduates' student ratings and to examine the factors associated with the rankings. This study is supported by a 2017 Lubin summer research grant. AACSB business schools employing accounting Ph.D. graduates in a typical year. Mission designation % of schools Teaching as top priority 28 Research as top priority 32 Equal priority for teaching and research 40 We find that the doctoral program ranking based on student ratings is not correlated with previous ranking based on research output. We find that graduates from doctoral programs with special teaching training have higher student ratings.
