Protection Act, and aer passing
both houses of the New York State
legislature, Governor Andrew

development of a culvert maintenance
plan for amphibian wildlife passages
in the Hudson River Estuary. e

Floating Farm
Students visited Swale, a floating
farm built atop a barge. Docking at
piers throughout NYC including
underserved neighborhoods, the
barge is open to the public and all
are welcome to harvest delicacies
like golden oregano, strawberries,
Jerusalem artichokes and scarlet
runner beans for free. Students were
introduced to the idea of public food
in public places, and learned the
latest urban farming techniques and
the importance of public waterways.
