As a Fulbright Scholar, Kristina Hodelin-ter Wal '11, Sociology and Anthropology, is a doctoral candidate in History at Radboud University in the Netherlands. In 2011 her Fulbright award took her to a rural village in Malaysia where she taught English to Tamil youngsters. She holds a master's degree in History from a joint Columbia University-London School of Economics program focusing upon Tamil communities of Malaysia. Hyunju (Grace) Jung '09, English, is pursuing a PhD at the University of California, Los Angeles in Cinema and Media Studies. Jung used her 2009 Fulbright scholarship to conduct research in Seoul, South Korea on modern Korean literature during the Japanese occupation. She is the author of the novel, Deli Ideology and translator of e Abject by Yi Chōng-jun, an important figure in postwar South Korean literature. La Reina Lawrence '14, Art History and Art, lives in Madrid, Spain where she works with primary school children in the areas of special education and displacement. Her 2014 Fulbright award took her to Madrid where she taught English to children in underserved communities. She recently completed a graduate degree in Bilingual and Multicultural Education at the Universidad de Alcalá in Madrid. Dyson's Fulbright Winner Here's what three former Pace Fulbright scholars are up to now… Matthew Mainzer '17, a double major in Economics and Political Science, received a Fulbright Award for an English Teaching Assistantship. He will teach at the International University of Novi Pazar in Serbia. A Marine Corps veteran, Mainzer will attend John Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies aer completing his Fulbright, and plans on a career as a U.S. Foreign Service Officer. 2016–17 | 19
