Westchester Walk for World Water
Over 100 walkers, including Pace University students, staff and faculty, community members and students from local high
schools, carried large buckets of water on their heads for one mile around the Pleasantville campus in solidarity with those
around the world, mostly women and children, who must do so daily to collect water. The event was held to draw attention
to the scarcity of safe drinking water globally. This DCISE event was planned in partnership with the Children's Environmental
Literacy Foundation (CELF) and its Student Ambassador Program and was held in April 2018 on the Pleasantville campus.

Robin Nagle, PhD, a clinical professor of anthropology and
environmental studies at NYU, discussed municipal sanitation
workers in New York City and some of the perpetually changing
dynamics of the Department of Sanitation's mission. This
event was co-organized by DCISE staff and Michael Finewood,
PhD, and co-sponsored by our partners at the NYC Parks
Department, NYC Urban Field Station and Natural Areas
Conservancy.
