9 ird Year (Spring) Credits PSY 751 School Psychology II: Internship, Ethics and Seminar 4 (Students in Bilingual Extension take PSY 751A) Total Credits: 4 Bilingual Specialization Students enrolled in the Bilingual Specialization will be required to complete a course in Foundations of Bilingual Education. ey must successfully complete all prerequisites and requirements for the MSEd program in School Psychology, along with the following coursework, which focuses more intensively on the theory and practice of bilingual/ multicultural education and methods of providing psychological services in the target language. • PSY 703A Practicum: Limiting Bias in Bilingual Assessment (1 credit) • PSY 709A Practicum: Counseling the Culturally Different (1 credit) • PSY 741 Communication and Language and the Bilingual Child in the Classroom (1 credit) • PSY 745 Bilingual Language Development and Disorders (3 credits) Students in the Bilingual Specialization Program must also complete the Bilingual School-Clinical Child Psychology Internship Seminar sequence (PSY 750A; PSY 751A). is includes a minimum of 1,200 clock hours, of which a minimum of 600 clock hours must be completed in a school setting that provides opportunity for the delivery of bilingual school psychological services. It is expected that the training experience will devote at least 30 percent of the time working with bilingual populations. Additionally, the requirements for the Bilingual Education Extension (PPS/ADMIN) to the New York State teaching certificate in School Psychology, specify that students pass both oral and written proficiency examinations in both English and the second language. Before students are enrolled in the Bilingual School Psychology Internship Experiences (PSY 750A; PSY 751A), they will be required to pass the Bilingual Education Assessment (BEA) in both English and the target language. Transfer credit Students in the MSEd School Psychology programs may be allowed up to a maximum of 30 graduate credits for transfer purposes. Transfer credit may be granted for graduate level course work completed with a minimum grade of B at a regionally accredited graduate school within five years of enrollment. Transfer credit is based on comparability of courses, and each course is evaluated individually by faculty members. Students should submit applications for transfer credits for first year courses by June 15 of the year preceding entry into the program. For courses beyond the first year, students should submit their application by October 31 of the year the student enters the graduate program. Transcript evaluation occurs aer program admission and matriculation. Full-time or part-time study Students may undertake the program on a full- or part-time basis. Full-time students must complete the requirements within five years and part-time students within seven years. Residency requirement Candidates must fulfill the residency requirements of 30 credits at Pace University, including at least one year of full-time study.
