NATURE CENTER SITE ENHANCEMENTS
DCISE's Nature Center accomplished several enhancements to
the grounds:
New wildlife garden
Large pergola and sitting area next to the bird feeding
station
Wetland nature trail
Organic vegetable garden
Sitting areas along the trails
Woodland trail
Species labeled along wetlands trail
ENVIRONMENTAL HOUSE MUSEUM
RENOVATION
This year saw the deaccession of the Nature Center Museum
animals so that space can be converted into new lab which will
allow for faculty mentored student research and field studies.

MEMBERSHIPS
Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher
Education (AASHE)
AASHE is a membership-based organization of colleges
and universities working to advance sustainability in higher
education. Membership entitles each person on our campuses
(faculty, staff, or student) access to an array of online resources
and numerous opportunities for networking, information
sharing, collaboration, and professional development.

Council of Environmental Deans and Directors, National
Council for Science and the Environment (CEDD / NCSE)
The NCSE advances informed environmental policy and
decisionmaking through science. Its work and programs
include interdisciplinary research, scientific assessment,
information dissemination, training and curriculum
development. NCSE engages scientists, educators,
policymakers, business leaders and officials at all levels of

WEB INITIATIVES
This year, DCISE's growing web presence was leveraged to
highlight its various environmental programs and events.
DCISE Website
The DCISE website has been updated to incorporate all
environmental content and programming under the
DCISE umbrella, including all former Pace Academy
programming. The website now houses all information
on the Pace Environmental Clinic, GreenPace
Sustainability Committee and the Environmental
Consortium of Colleges & Universities. www.pace.edu/

Environmental Studies and Science Research and
Practice Page
A new section of the Environmental Studies and
Science department website has been developed
to highlight all facets of the department's research,
including faculty members who engage in scholarly
research with ESS students; faculty involved in the MA
in Environmental Policy program and their specific
areas of expertise; current and graduated student
thesis papers; and a list of organizations the ESS
department has partnered with to create workshops,
events, courses and internships.

Internship and Research Opportunities webpages
In an effort to encourage students to pursue various
internship and research opportunities, DCISE shares
listings online in various ways, including a new ESS
