With generous support from the President's Office, Project Pericles Civic Engagement and Public Value Faculty Fellowship Grants are awarded to faculty to develop these CE courses. 2017–18 recipients include: Erika Crispo, PhD, Concepts of Environmental Science, Biology, Dyson; Jessica Magaldi, PhD, Business Law, Lubin; Patrick McGuigan, PhD, The Healthcare Environment, Management, Lubin; and Daniel Molina, Psychology of Civic Engagement, Psychology, Dyson College. $1,429,500 The Center for Community Action and Research, along with Project Pericles at Pace University, work to support and further Pace's Civic Engagement (CE) and Public Value core course requirement. Utilizing the pedagogy of community- based learning, Pace students in CE courses apply course material to real-world community issues. The CCAR provides a critical outlet for our outspoken students to address the issues and current events that matter to them. I am thankful for the help of CCAR in facilitating my Civic Engagement and Public Values class, The Dark Side of Communication, which allows students to work directly with anti-hate and anti-dating-abuse organizations." Adam Klein, PhD, Assistant Professor of Communication Studies, Dyson College Student Civic Engagement Faculty Assistant Placements Students in the Project Pericles Faculty Assistant for Civic Engagement Series (FACES) program work with faculty teaching CE and Public Values courses to administer the community component of the course. Fourteen students assisted nineteen CE sections in 2017-18.
