DCISE Annual Report 2017-2018 8 Community Partnerships DCISE maintains active partnerships with community organizations and government offices in Westchester County and New York City, allowing students to gain placements for internships, externships, research opportunities and full-time employment. Our current partnership affiliations include: INSTITUTE FOR SUSTAINABILITY AND THE ENVIRONMENT Environmental Internship Panels Faculty in the Department of Environmental Studies and Science hosted internship panels on Pace's Pleasantville and New York City campuses. Representatives from Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture, Teatown Lake Reservation, Energize NY, the Green Business Partnership, New York Botanical Garden, Student Conservation Association, The Mayor's Office of Sustainability, and New York City Department of Parks and Recreation discussed the various internship opportunities available to students and then networked with students over lunch. Teatown Environmental Science Academy Symposium July, 2018 | Pleasantville campus Pace hosted the symposium of the Teatown Environmental Science Academy, an intensive summer research program for high school students. Twelve students from high schools throughout Westchester County presented their findings from studies on topics such as microplastics in local waters, invasive plants effects on soil health, and the impacts of beaver dams on water quality.
