MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN As we look back on another productive and successful year at Dyson College, we are very proud of the many ways that we have engaged our students in learning in the liberal arts through innovative teaching, student-faculty collaborations, and a high level of scholarship, as our mission promises. This year, our faculty and students were engaged in collaborative undergraduate research of neglected diseases; filmed a documentary focusing on environmentally-protected sea turtles; and traveled to China to study its economy, language, and culture. Our Model UN teams continue to win top awards at national conferences. And for the first time, the Economics team, composed entirely of Dyson students, won our regional competition and reached the national finals where they won honorable mention—an outstanding achievement! These, and many other activities that you will see in these pages, afford our students unique co-curricular opportunities that provide real-world experiences and prepare them for success in rewarding careers, as well as a life-long desire for continued learning. A significant success for Dyson this year includes an historical achievement for the University: the new PhD in Mental Health Counseling. It is the first Doctor of Philosophy degree program at Pace, and the first of its kind in New York State. The program, which was developed by the Psychology department on the Westchester Campus and approved by the New York State Department of Education, began in the fall of 2013. I am so pleased to share Dyson's accomplishments with you, our deeply appreciated friends and members of the extended Dyson community. Your ongoing support helps us to provide our students with even greater opportunities for an enriching educational experience that challenges their intellect, and prepares them for success in their personal and professional lives.
